Peak Summit history

On Saturday, Nov 16th, 2001, the Peak Summit was officially born. That night, Peace in the Jones, the Merry Pranksters, Chitara Rhythm Section, Bloom Street, Sativa Gumbo, the Trustees fo Modern Chemistry, the Big Diggity, Gladstone and Sabrosa Red were joined by 4 dj's and an art show in 4 venues...BBC, Gerstle's, Dutch's, and (now dead) Maier's Tavern. Over 1500 fans had to be swept out of St Matthews at 4am. Records were set, expectations were exceeded...and Louisville's artistic voice sang louder, with choral solidarity. We found out what seems to be a historic truth...Louisville is indeed a cultural force.
